Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for a number of years. Her family was home-schooled by her mom and her father, in USA. Raised with racial insults, she was made to feel unwanted. When she attended a 9th grade school audition where she received high praise for her singing and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. This not only increased her confidence, but it also changed the direction she pursued in her career. In 1992, she earned her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. In the year 23 she made her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as critical praise. The following year, in 2007, she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy and became more well-known. As a professional singer, she's also produced a single as well as an extended work. In addition, she is a LGBT activist.
