Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid was born in Vietnam and has Chinese roots, but her father Winston Barrett Munn comes from a Southern family. Olivia was 2 years old at the time her parents separated. She is now raised by her mom and stepfather. He is a United States Air Force soldier. While the family left Oklahoma and stayed in various locations, she was mainly brought up within Tokyo, Japan. When she was in Japan, she was a local actress in theatre performances, and later was an Japanese models for fashion. As the family retreated back to the United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Then, after some tiny roles on television series featuring Hawaii lense (such like Beyond the Break), she was cast in the show Mily Acuna. She was also offered Rob Schneider's receptionist on Big Stan. She hosts the popular podcasts "Formula D", "The Daily Nut", and "The Daily Nut". After the television series Beyond the Break, she has continued to surf. The black belt she holds is the martial art of taekwondo. In the year she turned two old, her mother got married again, this time to an officer of the US Air Force. Although the family relocated many times, she was predominantly raised at Tokyo, Japan, where her stepfather's military was stationed. She attended her at University of Oklahoma where she was a journalism major, with minors in Japanese and dramatic art.
