Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay is the daughter Peter, a teacher and an accomplished actress and playwright. Peter was educated at St. Thomas University. The earliest memories of Anna were of going to play rehearsals with her mother and watching her perform. Silk created a variety of commercials while she was a child. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts in the field of theater at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas staged at least two early plays: Seven Menus & The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career after moving to Toronto Canada in the month of November 1999. After that, she relocated from Toronto to Los Angeles for the remainder of the decade. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007 when they met at an actor'sworkshop located in Los Angeles. When they got engaged in 2008, they married in 2009. They renewed their vows on April 10th, 2011, in Fredericton following the wedding, when the bride was converted to Judaism.
